Randall Viosca with his flight crew of the WWII B-24 bomber "Ready Willing and Able" A/C ID 427. The plane crashed while circling to land on return from Berlin on its 13th mission 4/29/1944. All crew members died.
As written on the back:
Standing. Enlisted men left to right: Sgt Rudy Grossi, Sgt Joe Childress, Sgt Johnson, S/Sgt Joe Myers (Radio Operator), S/Sgt Cris Reilly (Asst. Engr), S/Sgt Randall Viosca (Engr).
Kneeling. Officers, Left to right -- Lt. Barker (Co Pilot), Lt, Fryman (Pilot), Lt. Young (Nav.), Lt. Christian (Bombadier).
Front Row -- sitting down - "Putt-Putt", he's the boss, said Randall.
Note: 1. Fay and Robert Viosca (sister and brother) say that Randall called the plane "The Hum-dinger". Alice Viosca said that Randall had named the dog "Putt-Putt". The folks at B-24.net said that that is most likely true as a putt-putt was the name for the auxillary power motor that ran when the main engines are off, and an engineer would have known that.
