Louise Angela Fernandez Viosca, the second of five children of Manuel Fernandez and Josephine Rizzo, was born on October 26, 1909 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Displaced by Hurricane Katrina, Louise became a resident of Georgetown, Texas. She passed away on Friday, September 21, 2007 just before her 98th birthday at the Wesleyan Nursing Home in Georgetown. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and traveling. Louise was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Willard Viosca Sr.; her son Drew Randall Viosca; two sisters, Juanita Baiamonte and Leona Hymel; and a brother, Manuel Fernandez.
Mrs. Viosca is survived by two sons, Victor W. Viosca, Jr. (Dionne), René C. Viosca (Marilyn), a daughter, Barbara Boles (Fred) and by her sister, Gloria Rodriguez. Louise is also survived by six grandchildren: Kevin Norman (Trish), Kristen Fuller (John), Jason Boles (Carissa), Valerie Viosca, Chuck Viosca (Becky), Paul Viosca, and Adrienne Viosca, and by six great-grandchildren: Jonathan Smith, Zachary Fuller, Madison Viosca, Braedan Boles, Christopher Viosca, and Alyssa Viosca.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 3:00 pm at the LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 29 from 1:00 pm until time of the Mass. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park. Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wesleyan Nursing Home Employee Fund at 2001 Scenic Drive, Georgetown, TX 78626.
